Description
Five Mile Point lighthouse built in 1847 from sandstone quarried from East Haven sits in an 82-acre park called Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The light is no longer operating but the 70-foot tower is a popular wedding venue. The park also houses a historic carousel built in 1905. Both the carousel and lighthouse are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The park is popular for beach going, children's playgrounds and bird watching during the migration.
