Gallogly Photo Takes Prize  In Florida State Contest

My image of sea stacks at Bandon Beach on the Oregon coast recently took second place in a competition state-wide in Florida run by the Florida Camera Club Council (FCCC). The council is a nonprofit founded in 1959 with a membership of 50 camera clubs in the state. It holds three annual digital and print competitions. When an entry wins one of the four top ribbons in any of the three annual competitions, it is entered in the end of year competition. My image took second place in the end of year digital competition in the Monochrome category. Of a total of 891 images entered in the end-of-year digital competition, there were 122 images that had made the cut from the tri-annual competitions to be entered in the Monochrome category in the end of year competition.

Gallogly Photo Awarded In PX3 2020

Fran Gallogly's photo of "A Street Photograph of a Street Photographer" was awarded an Honorable Mention in the prestigious PX3 The Prix de la Photographie in the category Special/Street Photography. The “Prix de la Photographie, Paris” (P×3) promote the appreciation of photography, discover emerging talent and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.

Each submitted photographs was evaluated by the esteemed professional Px3 Jury panel. Winning entries were given titles of gold, silver, or bronze levels, along with honourable mentions from many distinguished submissions. The “Photographer of the Year”, “Best New Talent” and the 1st category winner’s photography are exhibited in Paris.

Gallogly Portrait Selected For Images 2020 Show

Fran Gallogly's portrait of street photographer Luis Mendes will be on exhibit in the upcoming juried show, Images 2020, at the Fairfield Museum and History Center in Connecticut. Three professional photographers selected 40 images for this exhibit, which is in its 12th year. The show runs from Sept. 4-Nov. 1, 2020. The museum is at 270 Beach Rd. in Fairfield CT.

Gallogly Image In New Canaan Show

Fran Gallogly image, "Elegant Egret," was selected for the show, "Art in the Windows," put on by the Carriage Barn Arts Center, home of the New Canaan Society for the Arts. The theme of the show is "True Colors" and the work will be showcased in New Canaan, Connecticut, store windows in a downtown celebration of the arts. The show will run from May 30 with a downtown kick-off event from 5:30-7 pm, and ends on June 14, 2019. Fran's photo will be in the window of New Canaan Healthfare, a grocery specializing in health foods and vitamins, at 2 Morse Court.

Gallogly Image In Two Florida Shows

Fran Gallogly's image, "Blue Dreams," will be on exhibit throughout March 2019 at the Island Images gallery in Vero Beach, Florida, in a juried show featuring the works of members of the Adventure Photography and Photo Walks group. In April this same image will be on display in the juried show, "From The Heart," in the Port St. Lucie Civic Center sponsored by the Treasure Coast Photography Center. The image of a driftwood tree was taken on Jekyll Island, Georgia, in 2018.

Fran Gallogly's photo of a Hypericum (St. John's Wort) will be on exhibit at the Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Ave., in New York City. Housed in a historic brownstone in Greenwich Village, the club is one of the oldest art organizations in the United States. The exhibit, which will feature art works depicting flowers, is the juried 9th annual Sylvia Maria Glesmann Exhibit. The show runs from September 24 through October 5, 2018.

Gallogly Pier Image Selected For Loft Artists Show

Fran Gallogly's image "Pawley's Island Pier" has been selected for the 5th annual tri-state juried show, "Relishing Restraint," at The Loft Artists Association in Stamford, Connecticut. The show runs from August 17-September 23 at their gallery at 575 Pacific Street. Only 62 entries were accepted out of 230 submissions. The show theme explores how contemporary artists have embraced limitations imposed by space, finances, materials, identity or time to enhance or transform their practice for the better. The Loft Artists Association was founded in 1978 as the vision of three artists living and working in the Yale & Towne factory building in Stamford. It has evolved to become one of Stamford's premier visual arts organizations dedicated to creating ties between creative individuals and the community.

Fran Gallogly's "Driftwood Tree" digital image in dye infused aluminum is on exhibit this summer in the Salmagundi Summer Exhibition, August 6-August 24, 2018. The Salmagundi Art Club, founded in 1871, is one of the oldest art clubs in the world. Housed since 1917 in a historic brownstone on Fifth Ave. in Greenwich Village, New York City, the club has nearly 900 members and offers art classes, exhibitions, lectures and auctions as well as its own collection of some 1500 works. Among its prominent members have been William Merritt Chase, Louis Comfort Tiffany, N.C. Wyeth and Childe Hassam.

A photograph by Fran Gallogly, Hosta Venus, took First Place in the Floral/Landscape category in the Treasure Coast Photography Center's annual juried show "From The Heart." The show is at the Civic Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, through the end of February 2018. This photograph also was accepted for the annual juried photography exhibition, "Through the Eye of the Camera," at the A.E. Backus Museum and Gallery in Fort Pierce, Florida. The show runs from March 16-April 27, 2-18.

Fran Gallogly's photograph, "Sunrise, Dante's View" taken in Death Valley National Park, has been accepted for the show "Landscapes" to be held June 4-22, 2017 at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. Founded in 1871, the Salmagundi Club is one of the oldest art organizations in the United States. Housed in an historic brownstone mansion in Greenwich Village, New York City, the Club offers programs including art classes, exhibitions, painting demonstrations, and art auctions throughout the year for members and the general public.

The Salmagundi facilities include three galleries, a library, an elegant period parlor, and a restaurant and bar with vintage pool tables. ArtSpace Features Gallogly Photos

ArtSpace, the monthly exhibit gallery in the Fort Pierce Library, 101 Melody Lane, features 18 of Fran Gallogly's photos during the month of January 2017. The exhibit includes landscapes, flowers and birds. Subjects included are Florida, India, Namibia, Death Valley and Connecticut. The library is a not-for-profit with a focus on community education.

Earth And Beyond

The Bruce S. Kershner Gallery of the Fairfield Public Library, Fairfield CT, announces a major show, "Earth & Beyond," featuring works by photographer Fran Gallogly and painter Eric Chiang. The show runs from August 13-September 25, 2016. A reception will be held on August 20 from 4:30-6:30 pm with an Artists' Talk at 5:00 pm. Fran Gallogly, a photographer from Bridgeport, Connecticut and Fort Pierce, Florida will be exhibiting 22 original archival pigment prints in the show.

Gallogly Florida Photo Selected For Juried Show

"Cacti at Sunrise," a photo by Fran Gallogly taken on North Hutchinson Island, Florida, has been selected for a juried show, "Florida's Natural Legacy 2016," at the Savannas Preserve State Park. The show is sponsored by Florida Master Naturalists' St. Lucie Chapter and the Savannas Preserve. The show runs from March 3 through March 31, 2016. The opening is on Sunday, February 28, from 5-7 PM. The exhibit will be hosted by the Savannas Preserve in their brand new 3,000 square foot education building, 2541 SE Walton Road, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952. The St. Lucie Chapter of FL master naturalists is a non-profit, volunteer citizen science group trained by the University of Florida/IFAS and facilitated by the St. Lucie County extension office.

The Star Magnolia was in bloom in front of Fran Gallogly's house, so Fran grabbed her camera and took a photo. She turned the photo into a digital painting. That painting was recently purchased by a national retail chain for their Fall 2014 line of greeting cards. The sale was handled through the stock agency that represent's Gallogly's work, Tandem Stills + Motion in Culver City, California.

Fran Gallogly's photo of a purple cone flower (Echinacea purpurea) captured First Place in the Milford Garden Club's Juried Photography Exhibit: "Milford's Official Flower" in Milford, Connecticut. Her photo will be hung in an exhibition at the Milford Public Library throughout December 2014. Gallogly is to appear at Milford City Hall to receive a citation from the Mayor and a $50 gift certificate from Milford Photo.

"Sea Serpent," a photo of driftwood on a beach at sunrise taken at Jekyll Island, Georgia, by Fran Gallogly was selected for the September/October 2014 cover of SELECT TRAVEL magazine.

Select travel is published in Lexington, Kentucky, for banking, alumni and chamber travel planners.

The September/October issue featured five destination beaches.

Two Gallogly flower photos, "Lupine" and "Orange Hawkweed," were hung in the "Rendezvous" exhibit in the Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr. Gallery of the Arts Council of Greater New Haven in Connecticut. The show will be open from July 10 through September 19, 2014. The Arts Council is located at 70 Audubon Street in downtown New Haven on the second floor.

Fran Gallogly's photo "Camel Ride" has been awarded RUNNER UP in the Red Photo Competition judged by Guy Tal of Chasing The Light.

Gallogly Image To Be Hung At Fairfield Museum

Fran Gallogly's portrait, "Pushkar Camel Trader," was selected to be hung in the prestigious juried show "Images 2014" at the Fairfield Museum and History Center in Fairfield, Connecticut. This is the second year in a row that one of Gallogly's images was selected to be hung in this competition which is open to photographers throughout the region.

The exhibit will run from May 11-June 22 at the museum. Last year only 60 images were selected to be hung in the show out of some 1,000 images submitted. This year the jurors selected 69 images to be hung in the museum and 18 Honorable Mentions which will be exhibited at First Niagra Bank in Fairfield.

There were four jurors from the field of art. Helen Klisser During is Director of Visual Arts at the Westport Arts Center in CT. Photographer Fran Gallogly announces a new line of inspirational posters. The artist has posted several examples of these in a new gallery on her website called Inspirational Posters. She also invites clients to select any photograph from her website and contact her with a favorite quote or phrase and she will combine the photo and quote into a poster and upload it to this gallery for them to purchase. Quotations or phrases should be brief so they will fit on the poster.

Floral Fusion Exhibit Accepts 4 Gallogly Images

Floral Fusion, an event featuring a flower show, fine art show and plein air painting show, has accepted four of Fran Gallogly's floral images for display. The event will be held at the Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound, Florida, from January 10-February 28, 2014.

All art work was juried to ensure consistency with quality, theme, showing space and acceptability within the park's family-oriented, natural environment. Gallogly's images, which will be for sale during the event, includes Hosta Venus, Poppy Mallow (Callirohe), Orange Hawkweed (Hieracium aurantiaca) and Mountain Laurel Sarah (Kalmia Sarah).

Flower Photos Prove Popular

Fran Gallogly's flower photos have proved popular with art buyers. Gallogly exhibited a dozen of her flower photographs at the Bloodroot vegetarian restaurant during the summer of 2013 in Bridgeport, CT, and sold several at that venue. In addition, two of her flower photographs were exhibited in the annual Art Show at the Pequot Library in Southport, CT, and both were sold.

Gallogly Photo Selected For Images 2013

Trumbull photographer Fran Gallogly's image "Sea Serpent" has been selected to be hung in Images 2013, the highly regarded juried photography exhibition hosted annually by the Fairfield Museum to celebrate the exceptional work of talented regional photographers. The exhibit will be on display from May 3-July 21 at the museum which is located at 370 Beach Rd. in Fairfield, CT. The museum is open from 10-4 weekdays and 12-4 weekends.

Artists from Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts submitted images to the show and 55 were accepted to be hung this year. Faces Of India Exhibit Opens

An exhibit of recent portraits and landscape images of India by Trumbull resident Fran Gallogly is currently on display at the Bloodroot Restaurant, 85 Ferris Street, in Black Rock, Bridgeport, CT. The exhibit will run from April 7-June 16, 2013.

The Galloglys visited the ancient Ajanta and Ellora caves near Aurangabad, the tiger preserves at Kahna and Bandhavgarh, the exotic temples at Khajuraho, the sacred Ganges at Varanasi as well as Mumbai, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer and the annual Cattle Fair at Pushkar.

Although they saw many magnificent and ancient palaces, temples and forts, the highlight of their trip was India's beautiful and diverse people. The photos at Bloodroot are a selection from Gallogly's 146-page self-published photography book, "Faces of India," Blurb, 2013. It is available for purchase on-line at the Blurb Bookstore.

Gallogly Photo Accepted For Florida Exhibit

Fran Gallogly's photo, "Roosevelt Bridge at Dusk, Stuart", was accepted for display in the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park Photography Contest in Hobe Sound, Florida. Some 350 photographs were submitted and only 80 were accepted to be hung on display in the park's Kimball Center. The photographs will be on display from April 19-June 2, 2013. The contest will be judged by world famous photographer Clyde Butcher.

Gallogly Publishes Book On India

Fran Gallogly just published her second book of photography, Faces of India. The 146-page book is a compendium of portraits and some landscapes from her travels in that country in November 2012. The book may be previewed on-line in the Blurb Bookstore. In 2012, Gallogly published a 100-page photography book of photographs of Namibia in SW Africa. It depicted the stunning desert scenery of this southwest African nation.

Gallogly Photo Accepted In Annual Juried Art Show

Artist Fran Gallogly's photograph, Hypericum, was selected to be hung in the 15th annual Pequot Library Art Show in Southport CT. The show takes place the weekend of Oct. 13-14 with a gala opening dinner/dance on Friday evening. Three eminent jurors selected the art to be displayed. All the art is for sale throughout the weekend with a portion of the proceeds going to the library.

The theme of the show is "Inside Out/Outside In: Sourcing Inspiration." Artists were asked where they derived their inspiration, from the outdoors or from within? Where do they see beauty? Gallogly said her inspiration was from her garden. Hypericum, or St. John's wort, is a flowering shrub in her backyard.
